314 – Polyether Urethane (AU)

Polyester Urethane (AU)

Polyether Urethane (EU)

Temperature Range:

-60°C to +110°C (-76°F to +230°F)

Intermittent High 130°C (Int 265°F),

Properties

Polyurethane elastomers are based on the poly-addition of diol-ester (AU) or diol-ethers (EU) with diisocyanate. The diol-ethers excel in mechanical strength, low heat resistance, chemical resistance and superior water resistance and high Impact resistance compared to Ester Polyurethane. The diol-ester types excel in mechanical strength, low heat resistance, chemical resistance, superior Oil resistance and has 30〜100% more mechanical strength to Ether Polyurethane but does suffer from low impact resilience.

Polyurethane elastomers can be cross linked by isocyanate, peroxides and recently new types are available with a sulphur cure system.

Applications

Polyurethane elastomer applications take into account high mechanical properties and abrasion resistance. The combination of these characteristics suits products like seals, mountings, belts, round belts, suspensions, rolls, solid wheels covering stamps for ceramic industry. Polyurethane products are used in the automotive industry, chemical, automation, mining, textile, shipyards.
